Create a Jury Pool

Select Create a Jury Pool from the navigation panel and enter the required information. The button to create the new Jury Pool becomes active once the required fields have been filled in.

It is helpful to use a standard naming convention, such as the date and time, for the pool description.

Rescheduling Details

The rescheduling details panel provides information on the number of rescheduled jurors that will be brought into the pool.

• Ratio of reschedule vs. randomly selected jurors allowed in the pool

  • This is the system property that controls how many rescheduled jurors are allowed to be included in the pool. It may be changed by the system administrator

• Number of jurors in the reschedule queue

  • This is the total number of jurors that have been scheduled for the selected date. It could also include jurors that were rescheduled for earlier dates but were not included in a selection due to the maximum allowed reschedules being exceeded according to the system ratio.

• Number of rescheduled jurors that will get selected in the pool

  • This is the actual number of rescheduled jurors that will be included in the pool. If the number of jurors in the reschedule queue exceeds the maximum ratio, this number will be less than the total number of jurors in the reschedule queue.

The highlighted table will show the rescheduled jurors that will be included in the new pool.

By default, rescheduled jurors are added to the beginning of the pool. If preferred, rescheduled jurors may be randomly order throughout the pool. Your system administrator may change this in Application Properties.

When jurors are reschedule, the date represents the earliest date a juror becomes eligible for selection. Each time you create a new Pool, the system automatically reviews the reschedule queue and attempts to include these eligible jurors.

If you have more jurors rescheduled for a specific date than your reschedule ratio allows, the system will only select up to that limit. Any remaining jurors will stay in the reschedule queue and be eligible for the next pool you create.
